Week 10, part 23

My favorite exercise was week 5, part 10 in which I set up an avatar on meez.com. My second favorite excercise was working with Zoho. This program has made me more aware of the different items that are available to us, from graphics to picture manipulation, from online word processers to downloadable media. I plan to let others know about Zoho and all of its possibilities.

Week 9, part 22

I searched for "Emma" by Jane Austen on Wowio and on HCPL's digital media catalog. I found an E-book version of it on Wowio, but I found it as a unabridged overdrive eAudio book in HCPL's site. The wowio site has mostly older items that are now public domain. I found HCPL's site to be more flexible and containing a wider variety.

Week 9, part 21

I went into podcasts.net and found a podcast about the Magic the gathering card game. I copied the address and pasted it to my bloglines account.

Week 9, part 20

I viewed several videos on YouTube. The series that I liked the most is futurethought-crime time. I one that I liked the most is crime time-the getaway.

Welcome

Week 8, part 19

Zoho is a great device.  An online version of Microsoft Office.  I created an account on Soho.

Week 7, part 18

Of all of the social networking programs, Linkedin was the one that I liked the most. I decided to set up an account with Linkedin.

Week 7, part 17

Technology is a two-edged sword. We as a society have become so dependent on technology. This is evident when the main HCPL server crashed back at the end of October. It took almost two weeks for HCPL to get back to speed since the crash.

Week 7, part 16

I went into the iHCPL wiki and posted my favorite TV shows within my favorite TV shows category.

Week 6, part 14

I looked at all five perspectives and the wikipedia article. Under the perspective Librarianship I was impressed with the category that a librarian should control technolust and not buy new technology only for the sake of new technology. I agreed with most of the statements under a Librarian's 2.0 Manifesto, as long as they do not interfere with the quality of customer service.

Week 6, part 14

I did a search among the popular searches of technorati. I then went into the advanced search. I typed in soccer and I found a link to sportsblog that talked about the tragic death of soccer fan Gabrielo Sandri in Italy. I then typed in doctor who and to my surprise I found a blog called dying man's daily journal. It seems to be a blog from a terminally ill patient.

Week 6, part 13

I went into the iHCPL setup for this unit in order to look at the different links. I looked at avatar (icon) wikipedia, del.icio.us, library elf, simpsomaker, and south park-choose a character. I played a little with simpsomaker, but my favorite of the group was south park-choose a character.
